Emergency Medicine in the UK - Training

Modernising Medical Careers has introduced streamlined training programmes tailored to your specialty of choice. Training in every medical discipline has undergone substantial changes recently - many of these changes have not yet been finalised and trainees should expect further changes in the future.

The College of Emergency Medicine continues to improve and develop the training programme for trainees; the Curricula are well developed and continue to be updated and improved regularly. Other exciting developments can be expected in the near future as the on-line e-learning resources expand.

The Training Standards Committee and the Education and Examinations Committee trainee representatives may be contacted for advice and guidance through the EMTA website. There is advice specifically for 2008 applications here.

The training path under MMC is outlined here. Hover over images to see detail and links to more information on this site and elsewhere.
